My First Time Mom Most Loved Products

Updated: Apr 7, 2019

FYI: Some of the products I am about to talk about may not sit well with you. If that happens to be the case, and I mean this in the nicest way, please just keep your comments to yourself as I personally am not interested in a pep talk about what you think is right/wrong or good/bad. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s begin.

February 12, 2015 at 1:22 am it happened – I became a mom. My new role in life came with an assortment of feelings ranging from excitement to fear. Motherhood did not come with an instruction manual but there were tons of books out there that attempted to fill that void. But, even with all the pseudo-instruction manuals out there, I decided that none of them could be considered right or wrong because if there is anything I’ve learned this far it’s that every baby is different and what may work for one baby (and mommy) may not work for another.

So here's the list:

1. Sudocream

This antiseptic healing cream is absolutely amazing! Not only has the product work for diaper rash on AMs bottom  - it works for Mom's skin too! That's right... ever had a stubborn pimple (or two)? ...well rest assured, this multi-use cream can help with that too! Check out all the other uses for Sudocrem here.

2. Live Clean (Baby) Products

Live Clean Baby products are absolutely wonderful! The company's collection of eco-friendly baby care products are made with natural plant based and gentle ingredients that are formulated with certified organic botanicals making it safe for both baby and the earth.

We religiously use their Non-Petroleum Jelly! After using up our stash of this product we opted to try out the traditional Vaseline petroleum jelly to save a few bucks but it just wasn't the same. The consistency of Live Clean's product is much more light and NEVER allowed for a rash to develop so we went back to it and haven't looked back since.

3. Jolly Jumper

I have to admit, I wouldn't have even thought about getting this product if I hadn't seen it in action. After watching my niece jump around I was sold and put it on my registry... looking back now I could have easily opted to find one much cheaper on a buy/sell/swap Facebook group but hey... I'm learning as I go.

Anyway, AM loves her Jolly Jumper! At first all she really did was tap dance in it at around 4 months. Once she finally got the hang of the whole "jump" part she was a pro which meant happy entertained baby and free hands for mommy to do... oh I don't know a gajillion other things! :)

4. Sophie the Giraffe

Ahhh yes, the well known teething toy, Sophie the Giraffe. The set of 3 natural rubber and non-toxic food painted teethers are great. "A" really loves chewing on either of them really. She is soft, light, and easy to grasp and theirs a pretty interesting smell to them that is pleasant in a way.

The retail price of this teether may shock some consumers but I can assure you, at least form my own experience, that it is definitely worth the investment.

5. Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit

This may be the last item on this list but the Baby Merlin Magic Sleep Suit was BY FAR a lifesaver. Our daughter had an exaggerated jolt reflex which would sending into a choking panic followed by screaming and crying. We would double swaddle her when she was really little to help her sleep but eventually she'd mastered breaking out of it. This suit helped control those outbursts, kept her comfortable and, now this one is my favourite, kept her sleeping for longer periods of time. I would recommend this suit to anyone with a baby that has sleep issues.
